About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for providing security and protection for students, staff, and visitors while preventing property loss due to theft or vandalism. This role involves monitoring student behavior, enforcing school rules, and ensuring a safe environment on campus. The officer will patrol the assigned campus, control traffic, and assist law enforcement as needed. The position requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential matters effectively.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Designated Certification.
• Clear and valid Texas driver's license.
• Two years' experience in security or police department employment.
• Ability to clearly and accurately record information.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with youths and adults.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in handling confidential matters.
• Personal qualities related to respect for the rights and confidentiality of others.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned campus and monitor student behavior.
• Enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
• Resolve conflicts or confrontations between students and report disturbances.
• Control traffic and parking on campus grounds during school hours and events.
• Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records.
• Inform students of vehicle problems in cooperation with office personnel.
• Assist law enforcement personnel as needed.
• Guide authorized visitors and provide directions.
• Notify appropriate authorities of situations requiring immediate attention.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
