About The Position

Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Security Officer to join our team! The Security Officer strives to provide a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Aspirus Plaza Drive Clinics, 2800 & 3000 Westhill Drive, Outpatient Therapy Department of 3200 Westhill, Hospice House, Stewart Avenue Warehouse, and Center Buildings Incorporated while following policies & procedures. Interacts with other Security Officers and hospital staff to provide a quality security service. Demonstrates decision-making and critical thinking skills. Hours: Full Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks. Night shift, Weekends and holidays as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• An Associate's or Technical School degree in Police Science or current student in Police Science program desired.
• Security experience/training or background is beneficial.
• Ability to use precautionary equipment like N95 or PAPR.
• Flexibility in work hours including shift and days.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and related software.
• Outstanding communication skills including tact, diplomacy, and de-escalation.
• Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and weather extremes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid Wisconsin Driver's License.

• Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Operate computerized equipment, two-way radio, and personal computer.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional composure.
