About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking Global Security Officers to provide professional customer service and security presence across its facilities. The role involves proactive patrolling of the property, assisting visitors, patients, and staff, and preventing incidents such as theft and vandalism. Officers will respond to complaints, prepare incident reports, and manage emergency situations effectively while maintaining a high level of professionalism and judgment.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in customer service, military, security position, or similar role required.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience in patrolling, incident report writing, defensive tactics, and emergency response required.
• Technical aptitude to work with Security Technology preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary.
• Ability to remain calm and assume control in emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Windows XP or newer and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Previous security experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol Mayo Clinic property and security-sensitive areas.
• Assist visitors, patients, and staff as needed.
• Prevent and deter fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Enforce Mayo policies and respond to complaints and service calls.
• Prepare incident reports and activity logs.
• Work in the Security control centers as required.
• Manage altercations and emergency crises professionally.
• Operate and communicate on a two-way radio.
• Assist with emergency evacuations, including using emergency evacuation devices.
