About The Position

The Security Officer at Essentia Health is responsible for protecting and safeguarding patients, staff, assets, and facilities within the healthcare environment. This role involves patrolling the premises to deter criminal activity, responding to emergencies, and enforcing medical campus rules to maintain order and safety.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officers within 1 year of hire.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of de-escalation training within 5 months of hire if not previously trained.
• Must meet driving requirements acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the healthcare environment to deter criminal activity and identify hazards.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, disasters, and threatening situations.
• Detect and detain perpetrators of incidents.
• Mitigate losses from incidents and ensure safety of all persons on campus.
• Enforce medical campus rules and maintain order during operations.
