About The Position

As a Security Officer - X-Ray Screening Specialist in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Have three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures and adhering to site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and screen individuals entering and exiting designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter security-related incidents.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, staff, and/or contractors, providing assistance and information as needed while maintaining a security-related presence.
  • Document and report any suspicious activities, security-related incidents, or breaches according to site procedures and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other Allied Universal personnel and local authorities as required for incident response and/or investigations.
