Job Description As a Security Officer - X-Ray Screener in West Palm Beach, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help manage entry points by greeting visitors, verifying identification, observing for prohibited items, and supporting orderly access using established screening procedures. You will communicate clearly with the public and site personnel, document security-related activity, and respond to concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement/military/ OR a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Possess 5 or more years of continous security experience
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a guard card.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Operate entry screening equipment such as walk-through metal detectors, hand-held wands, and x-ray or bag inspection processes to help identify prohibited items, following posted procedures.
  • Control access at screening checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing visitor directions, and coordinating with site personnel regarding entry requirements and restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, public areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations and report findings per site protocol.
