About The Position

As a Security Officer - Warehouse Access Control in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet drivers and team members, and maintain clear visitor and delivery logs. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, and communicate concerns promptly to support security-related operations. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site employees, visitors, and drivers by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or guard posts by verifying identification, badges, visitor logs, and delivery or pickup documentation for vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems to help identify unauthorized activity, then communicate observations and incidents to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, suspicious activity, and disputes at entrances or loading areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the building, yard, and perimeter with attention to docks, trailers, and restricted areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
