About The Position

As a Security Officer - Telecom Access Desk in Shelby Township, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor entrances, verify credentials, and help to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and vendors with inquiries and directions while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Carry out security-related procedures as outlined by Allied Universal and the client site, adapting to the unique needs of a technology and media environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Participate in emergency response activities as required, collaborating with site personnel and first responders as needed.
