About The Position

As a Security Officer - Warehouse Patrol in Portland, OR , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet drivers and team members, support access control, respond to concerns, and document activity with clear communication. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the distribution facility, including the yard, docks, parking areas and perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by monitoring entrances, gates and loading areas, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing visitors, drivers and contractors per site requirements.
• Observe and report unusual activity, damaged fencing, open doors, broken lights, suspicious packages and/or other conditions that may require attention.
• Monitor cameras, alarms and access control systems as assigned, and notify the appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when conditions warrant.
• Support shipping and receiving operations by maintaining order at driver check-in areas, assisting with traffic flow, and documenting trailer, seal and/or vehicle information when required by post orders.
• Complete routine reports, incident reports and shift logs with clear, accurate details, and escalate concerns through the chain of command in a timely manner.
• Provide assistance to employees and visitors with directions, general questions and service requests while maintaining a professional presence.
