About The Position

As a Security Officer - Warehouse Patrol in Summerville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, assist employees and visitors with professionalism, and communicate clearly when issues arise. Requirements

Be 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
Customer Service Experience is preferred.
Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, drivers, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access to the distribution location by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials as directed, and directing visitors to the appropriate check-in process.
Support inbound and outbound operations by monitoring truck traffic flow, confirming delivery and pickup appointments as required, and communicating with site contacts regarding dock and yard activity.
Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, office spaces, yards, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems, and report unusual conditions to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching assistance and documenting actions taken.
Complete detailed reports including daily activity logs, incident reports, and maintenance or hazard observations for follow-up by site management.
Perform interior and exterior checks for unsecured doors, gates, and restricted areas, and notify appropriate contacts when conditions require attention.
Provide directions and general assistance, de-escalating minor disputes when appropriate and requesting additional support when needed.
Coordinate with local authorities and/or emergency responders when required, and assist with scene control until relieved.
Enforce client and Allied Universal policies related to prohibited items, restricted areas, and conduct expectations in a professional manner.
Use clear radio and/or phone communications to relay status updates, incident information, and patrol findings to the appropriate personnel.
