About The Position

As a Security Officer - Warehouse Entry Control in New Hill, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle entry, and document activity. You will conduct routine patrols and rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide strong customer service and communication with site teams. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entrances, gates, and dock areas by verifying identification, credentials, and authorization for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Operate visitor management processes including sign-in and sign-out, issuing temporary badges when directed, and maintaining access logs per site requirements.
  • Screen and direct inbound and outbound truck traffic by confirming appointments, checking documentation, and coordinating with site contacts for routing to docks and staging areas.
  • Monitor cameras, alarm systems, and access control equipment, and report irregular conditions according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, perimeter, and loading areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or theft.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and fire and/or weather alerts, and notify internal contacts and public responders as required.
  • Complete timely reports such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and access records with accurate details for management review.
  • Support loss prevention and chain-of-custody practices by observing handling areas, documenting exceptions, and escalating concerns through the appropriate reporting channels.
  • Communicate professionally with site leadership and Allied Universal supervisors, and assist with security-related requests and/or special assignments as needed.
