About The Position

As a Security Officer - Visitor Screener in Middletown, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will support smooth operations by checking access, screening visitors and packages, monitoring assigned areas, and documenting security-related activity. You will stay visible to help reduce incidents, communicate clearly with team members and site personnel, and deliver helpful customer service. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and on-site personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate screening and access control points by checking identification, issuing and/or collecting badges, and inspecting permitted items such as bags, packages, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Control entry and exit at designated doors, gates, and/or checkpoints by maintaining logs, verifying appointments and/or shipping documents, and directing traffic flow to appropriate staging areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols and/or presence checks around assigned areas such as lobbies, dock approaches, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
