About The Position

As a Security Officer Visitor Checkpoint in Hardeeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and/or visitor credentials, and support smooth site operations through professional communication and customer service. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, a caring culture, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points at a logistics and distribution location, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and document access activity according to site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, delivery-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or unusual activity, with working environments and conditions that may vary by site.
  • Support truck gate and dock area operations by directing authorized visitors and/or drivers, maintaining accurate logs, and reporting security-related issues or policy concerns.
