About The Position

As a Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, where you will perform routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access points and visitor flow. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts, and respond to alarms and unusual activity with professionalism. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, loading bays, and the perimeter, reporting unusual conditions and/or maintenance concerns per site policy.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or authorizations, and document deliveries, contractor activity, and vehicle movements in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, medical events, and/or environmental issues, and communicate with supervision and public responders as needed.
  • Complete timely reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift handover notes, and use site systems such as radios, phones, and/or access control tools to support security-related operations.
