Security Officer - Utility Site Rover
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Utility Site Rover in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine rounds across a public-facing utilities and cultural location, maintaining a visible security-related presence that may help reduce incidents. You will observe and report activity, assist visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with site contacts. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests, staff, contractors, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures and access guidelines for public park and cultural venue locations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of grounds, pathways, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
- Monitor utility-adjacent areas and equipment zones while on patrol, noting hazards, suspicious conditions, and/or service impacts and reporting findings per site procedure.
- Complete security-related reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs, and communicate observations to supervisors and/or site representatives.
