As a Security Officer - Utilities Access Control PT in Rockville, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and managing access points. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help prevent unauthorized entry, and providing outstanding customer service to everyone onsite. You will be instrumental in upholding a secure environment through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach, all while supporting the innovative and reliable values that define Allied Universal.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activity.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by addressing questions and assisting visitors, employees, and/or contractors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and perimeter to observe and report security-related concerns.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site-specific policies and procedures.
