About The Position

As a Security Officer - University Patrol in Kansas City, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents while supporting students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to concerns, and document activity as needed. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, classrooms corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points during arrivals, dismissals, and special events, verifying authorization, assisting with visitor check-in, and directing individuals to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with school administrators and/or public responders as needed.
  • Document observations and incidents, complete daily activity reports, and communicate relevant information during shift turnovers to support consistent security-related operations.
