About The Position

As a Security Officer - University Patrol in Everett, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, students, and visitors through professional customer service and clear communication. You will complete routine rounds, observe and report concerns, and follow site procedures with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate parties and/or public services as needed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow; assist with sign-in procedures, directions, and verification of authorization in accordance with site policies.
  • Document patrol activity and incidents in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
