Job Description As a Security Officer - Campus Screening in Pittsburgh, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at an education location, you will greet students, staff, and visitors while supporting entry screening, access control, and badge verification. You will help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence, routine rounds near assigned checkpoints, clear communication, and timely reporting. Requirements

Be at least 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service at an education location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Operate screening posts by checking identification and credentials, directing foot traffic, and verifying visitor access in accordance with campus guidelines.
Conduct screening of persons and belongings as required, including use of screening equipment and visual inspections consistent with site procedures.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns through the appropriate channels and completing required documentation.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building entrances, common areas, and perimeter routes, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance issues.
