Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entrances and vehicle gates, verify credentials, support visitor processing, and conduct routine patrols while staying visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document activity, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver customer service with integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will support an agile, reliable, and innovative team culture.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A TSA Issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Operate access control functions by checking identification, managing visitor registration, issuing temporary badges when authorized, and directing traffic to approved entry points.
  • Monitor and document vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit, verify deliveries and contractor access against approved lists, and report discrepancies according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and coordinating with site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas such as gate lanes, staging areas, and perimeter points, and complete required reports for unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance issues.
