About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Gate in Chester, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a residential location, you will support access control by verifying credentials, issuing badges, and managing guest and vendor entry. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. With clear communication and a customer service mindset, you will respond to inquiries, document activity, and partner with the team to uphold a people-first, integrity-driven environment.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by following Allied Universal site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control entry and exit at a residential location by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining accurate visitor logs, and coordinating with property management as needed.
• Monitor alarms, intercoms, and CCTV systems, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate contacts when required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, building entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Complete timely security-related reports and documentation, including incident reports and shift activity logs, and communicate relevant updates to oncoming personnel and/or supervisors.
