As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Full Time Position in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will assist students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service while documenting observations and reporting concerns. Requirements
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Guard card and/or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests, students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, classrooms, offices, common areas, and perimeter areas; document observations and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, fire alarms, and/or lost property, and notify on-site personnel and/or emergency services as required.
- Monitor entrances and interior spaces to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited behavior; assist with directions, queue management, and visitor policy reminders.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs; communicate post updates, policy changes, and/or follow-up actions to supervisors and oncoming personnel.
