Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Site Patrol in Roanoke, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access control, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site employees, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse, loading dock, yard, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or operational concerns.
- Monitor access points and shipping and receiving activity, verifying credentials and directing foot and vehicle traffic according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
- Complete required documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes, and communicate security-related information to supervisors and/or the client contact.
