As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Warehouse Setting in Markham, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech location, you will conduct routine patrols and vehicle rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience through strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license that meets Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Bring agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor access points and conduct entry and exit screening, verify identification and/or badges, manage visitor sign-in, and help to deter unauthorized access while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and property-related incidents, and promptly notify site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including offices, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter lines, and report observed hazards, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports, and utilize site systems such as radios, CCTV, and/or access control tools to document observations and communicate with the team.
