Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Circuit in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location in New York, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support visitors and staff with clear communication and customer service, document observations, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, mezzanines, entrances, stairwells, elevators, corridors, and perimeter areas to help to deter prohibited activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, check credentials when required, and assist with crowd direction during peak periods and special events.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and suspicious conditions, and coordinate with site contacts and local responders as needed.
Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal management and site leadership.
