About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrol in Danbury, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol the assigned shelter location, helping to deter security-related incidents and promoting a welcoming environment for all. Requirements

  • Speak, read, and write fluent Spanish.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the shelter location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols and site-specific guidelines.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible presence within the shelter environment.
  • Report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences to the appropriate personnel and complete necessary documentation as required by Allied Universal and the site.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as needed, following established procedures and instructions from site management and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Support a welcoming environment for shelter residents and visitors while maintaining professional conduct at all times.
