About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Rounds in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay visible to help discourage unwanted activity, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will support access control, document observations, and assist tenants, visitors, and staff through clear communication and customer-focused service. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and access concerns.
• Control access through designated entry points by monitoring authorized entry, directing visitors, and reporting suspicious or unusual activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to property management and/or emergency services when required.
• Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and support security-related post orders during all shifts.
