As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. You will document observations and use a computer and/or tablet to share timely updates. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor access points and campus activity, verify identification or authorization when required, and assist with visitor directions and general information.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and other requests for assistance, and communicate updates to appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed reports of patrol activity, incidents, and policy violations, and support security-related administrative tasks such as log entries and shift handoff notes.
