As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government community services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, support access control and badge checks when needed, and stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will be a calm, professional presence, assisting staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry, loitering, and/or disruptive behavior while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and/or property concerns, and coordinate with site leadership and public responders as directed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and post handoffs.
