About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol - Weekends in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a shelter location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming environment. You will interact with residents and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the shelter location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting residents and staff as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and support security-related protocols.
Document and report any unusual activity, incidents, or security-related concerns according to Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
Communicate professionally with shelter staff, residents, and visitors to address inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
Participate in emergency preparedness drills and respond to alarms or emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
