About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Operator in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This role supports public-facing operations through strong communication, customer service, and teamwork. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocol.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, common areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and assist with checking credentials, visitor logs, and/or authorized entry procedures while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support staff and the public by providing directions, de-escalating tense interactions when possible, and communicating with supervisors and/or emergency personnel as needed.
