About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Grandville, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with shoppers, tenants, and site teams while delivering customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative culture grounded in teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, employees, and visitors at a retail mall location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and post orders, and by assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of common areas, corridors, entrances, loading areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to identify hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing timely notifications to site management and/or emergency services as needed.
• Control access through designated entry points by verifying authorization, monitoring visitor flow, and enforcing property rules related to loitering, disorderly conduct, and after-hours access.
• Complete detailed patrol and incident reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate observations during shift handoff to support consistent security-related operations.
