About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Ridgeland, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, assist with visitor and employee badge checks, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and responders. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years’ armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at a government location in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting local emergency resources and/or site leadership as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization per post orders, and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Complete required security-related documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate observations and/or concerns to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or site contacts.
