About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol, Secret Clearance Required in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government maritime location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related issues, and respond to concerns with strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government waterfront location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of facilities, docks, parking areas, and perimeter points; monitor for suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations and report findings.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control issues, disputes, medical calls, and alarms as directed by post orders.
  • Control access by checking identification, verifying authorization for entry, and directing pedestrian and vehicle traffic in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate via radio and/or telephone, and coordinate with supervisors and local public agencies as needed.
