About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Touring in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and communicate clearly with staff and residents while providing customer service. Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
• Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Be 21 or more years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, common spaces, stairwells, and exterior perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization for entry, and assist with visitor management and/or resident check-in processes per site procedures.
• Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to site leadership, and support de-escalation efforts when appropriate.
