About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Shift in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned locations, conducting routine rounds and maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge procedures, document observations, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication and customer service. Requirements

• Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control, reporting, and communication with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of public-facing buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
• Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports, including completing daily activity logs and notifying supervision per site procedures.
• Monitor entrances, common areas, and/or CCTV where assigned, provide directions and assistance to the public, and help maintain orderly conduct consistent with site rules.
