As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, requests, and unusual activity. You will document observations, escalate concerns, and provide professional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Have experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton preferred.
  • Have CPR certification preferred.
  • Have a guard card and/or license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating updates to site representatives and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and operational concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, assist with crowd management during peak periods and/or special events, and support orderly movement of vehicles and pedestrians when requested.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and use radios, phones, and/or other systems to coordinate response and request assistance when appropriate.
