As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, assist with access control, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • Must meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disorderly conduct, and/or suspicious activity, and notify hospital staff and/or public responders as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas and the exterior perimeter, including parking areas, entrances, waiting areas, and/or corridors; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and help manage authorized entry by observing visitor flow, directing guests to appropriate check-in areas, and reporting access concerns to site leadership.
  • Document and report security-related incidents and patrol activities, including completing written reports and/or logs, preserving information for follow-up, and communicating relevant details to supervisors and site contacts.
