Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Healthcare in Chicago, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow as needed, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and guests while delivering outstanding customer service. Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or public services as required.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned buildings, clinical areas, common spaces, and exterior perimeters to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and interior areas during patrols, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization as directed, and assisting with wayfinding and after-hours access control when assigned.
• Complete reports and documentation for incidents, observations, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant updates during shift transitions using approved systems and procedures.
