Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. You will conduct regular patrols, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with all individuals onsite. Requirements

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or emergencies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support access control procedures by observing entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal policies.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff to provide assistance and information as needed.
  • Remain alert and attentive while on duty to help to deter potential disturbances within the government location.
