As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Full Time in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic education location, you will monitor and patrol galleries, classrooms, and public areas, helping to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and steady communication. You will conduct routine rounds, respond to concerns, assist visitors and staff, and document observations. Requirements

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional support and/or public services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, academic areas, common spaces, back-of-house corridors, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and assist with entry screening, closing and/or opening routines, and after-hours checks in accordance with location procedures.
• Complete detailed reports and logs of patrol findings, incidents, and visitor interactions, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and location representatives.
