About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Education Patrol Weekdays in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will interact with students, faculty, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication, escalating concerns as needed. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access issues, disturbances, and/or medical calls per post orders.
  • Monitor and report security-related hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or unusual activity; document observations, incidents, and actions taken in written reports.
  • Support access control and visitor management as assigned, including checking credentials when required and/or directing guests to appropriate locations.
