About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gate Driver in Freeport, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location as an Access Control Officer, helping manage entry points, verify credentials, and guide visitors and deliveries with professional customer service. You will monitor activity, complete security-related documentation, and communicate clearly with site personnel while remaining visible to help discourage unauthorized access. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, vendors, and employees by following site-specific access control procedures, badge requirements, and security-related policies at an industrial chemical location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue temporary credentials as directed, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Operate access control systems, maintain accurate visitor and vehicle logs, and complete required documentation for entries, exits, deliveries, and contractor activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and basic scene control until additional support arrives.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building perimeters, parking areas, and key checkpoints, noting and reporting conditions that may require attention.
