As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will conduct routine patrols across campus areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, so you will also operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. Allied Universal is agile, reliable, and innovative, putting people first through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor check-in, identification verification, and directing guests to appropriate locations in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with campus staff and/or local responders as needed.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic logs; communicate noteworthy information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
