As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a busy retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control as needed, respond to alarms and/or calls for assistance, and deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and store staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail sales floors, common areas, loading and receiving areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, contacting appropriate personnel, and documenting actions taken.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and other key locations to help manage access, observe for policy violations, and report suspicious behavior or hazardous conditions to site leadership.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations and/or escalations to Allied Universal supervision and on-site management.
