About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Godfrey, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal on an education campus as an unarmed patrol officer, conducting routine foot and vehicle patrols to help create a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will remain highly visible, respond to security-related concerns, document observations, and deliver customer service through clear communication and teamwork. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in line with AU Driver Policy Requirements, supported by our agile, reliable, and integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific policies, access control procedures, and emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting and escalating concerns per post orders.
  • Monitor and document security-related activity using incident reports, patrol logs, and/or other required documentation, and communicate key updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Assist with crowd management and traffic or pedestrian flow during campus events, shift changes, and peak arrival or departure times, as directed by site procedures.
