About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a financial services location, you will conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence, and document and report security-related activity. You will interact with staff and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication, helping to reduce incidents through attention to detail and timely escalation. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements, supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and integrity-driven team.

Requirements

  • At least 1+ years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the financial services location, including lobbies, office areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards; communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document actions taken and notify appropriate parties as required by post orders.
  • Complete detailed written reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and daily activity; support investigations by preserving observations and providing clear statements when requested.
