About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Corridor Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support students, staff, and visitors with clear communication, and document observations with professionalism. Requirements

Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
Be 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; monitor for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, alarms, disturbances, and access concerns; request additional assistance as needed.
Monitor and control access points according to site procedures, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with visitor directions and information.
Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and observations; communicate timely updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
