Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the property and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Document and report observations, incidents, and/or suspicious activities according to company and site guidelines.
  • Assist with controlling access to restricted areas within the location, verifying credentials as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to the public and staff.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary, following Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and/or briefings to remain updated on policies, procedures, and security-related best practices.
