Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Checkpoint Patrol in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service and clear communication to staff and visitors. Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying authorization, managing visitor check-in, and directing individuals to appropriate locations in accordance with site guidelines.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, notifying site leadership and/or emergency services, and assisting with scene management.
• Document security-related activities by completing incident reports, shift logs, and patrol reports, and/or communicating key information during post transitions.
